Designed for Life
An open-plan kitchen designed for modern family living in a historic Oxfordshire home

A historic house and former brickworks in Oxfordshire has been transformed into a spacious, sociable and soulful family home with an open-plan kitchen and living space at its heart. A glass-box extension opens the north-facing, grade II-listed building to a new way of living, catering to modern life. The family gathers around the island to share meals, moments and stories, inviting friends for an informal dining experience at the connecting 14-seat dining table. Clear design principles, bulthaup furniture and timeless design come together in the glass extension, which houses the main living area and lets in an abundance of natural light and beautiful outdoor views. The streamlined white structured oak bulthaup cabinetry adds a warm and tactile touch to the more durable clay laminate and stainless-steel work surfaces that flow seamlessly to the dining table and soft seating media area that’s perfect for families and younger children to watch TV or play.
