When a kitchen has a backdrop as serene as this, the design shouldn't attempt to outshine it. This was the second time we designed a kitchen for the family, this time for their Cotswolds retreat by the water. A modern building in a rural location with a transitional interior, balancing traditional and contemporary without compromising either.
As you step inside the kitchen, there's a proper sense of balance. Symmetry was key; the room demanded it. The ebonised oak island at the centre echoes the sitting room opposite, harmonious by design. Warm ivory-toned Taj Mahal quartzite on the work surface and back wall, with subtle gold marble-style veining, adds an elegant warmth to the natural stone.
Finely crafted thin shaker cabinetry from our systemKA range has a classic yet contemporary look and feel, with appliances hidden behind pocket doors. There's a generous fridge-freezer, ovens raised to the perfect height, Bora induction hobs and a teppanyaki.
As we move into the pantry, soft tones continue and as lightly bolder colour pairs with the traditional feel of the dresser units. Designed in collaboration with Lauren Gilberthorpe Interiors, every corner considered, nothing disturbed.
